GOE Emergency inflation kit - Further information

In the case of a major EAS fault, these cars are designed to drop to the bump-stops. As
you can see from the image above, this is significantly lower than standard "Access"
height. A major fault can be caused by:

  • multiple height sensor failures
  • Out-of-bounds wheel articulation signals
  • out-of-calibration signals
  • Cascaded errors from other systems affecting the EAS (EPB, ABS, TCM etc)
  • Broken air compressor, reservoir tank or airline leak

This "drop" behaviour is ostensibly to "protect" the systems from any further damage.
However, if this occurs in remote locations or in boggy or rocky terrain, it can make
driving the vehicle impossible. In many remote situations, retaining the ability to drive
out can mean the difference between a good campfire story and a tragedy! Luckily, the
airbags themselves are almost never at fault - we have never heard of anyone "bursting" a
bag, as they are severely over-engineered. This means that if it were possible to inflate
the bags, one could at least retrieve the vehicle and drive to the nearest service agent.

Well now it's possible!! The GOE kit plumbs directly into each airbag, and in normal
conditions, the valve supplied allows normal operation. In an emergency however, the
valve can be used to isolate the aigbag from the rest of the system and provides an "air-
up" point for connection of an air compressor to directly inflate the bag.

The kit provides all hoses, connections, valves and air-points to do all 4 of the airbags. Note that some cutting of the factory airlines is required, meaning that the system can not completely be returned to standard condition without replacing those lines. This may have warranty implications for cars still under warranty.

All components are rated to over 600psi, and connectors are made of nickle-plated steel for corrosion resistance. Detailed fitting instructions are provided. Fitting will take around 2 to 3
hours for the average DIY'er.

This product is now available! Cost is $285 per kit (+ freight). As a bonus, you also receive an inline 600psi quick-fit connector, which you can use to quickly repair a broken airline. For an extra $22, you can also purchase a dedicated air tube cutter, which ensures straight cuts and is safer and easier than a stanley knife. Use the
